BGB Communications Inks 25,000 Square Feet

Pharmaceutical marketing and advertising firm BGB Communications has relocated and expanded its headquarters to the top floor of 462 Broadway, The Commercial Observer has learned.

The company signed a 10-year, 25,000-square-foot lease to occupy the top floor of the 165,000-square-foot, six-story landmarked Soho office building at the corner of Grand Street. Asking rent for the space was $60 per square foot.

“This is the classic Soho cast iron loft property,” said Nicholas Farmakis of Studley, who represented BGB Communications. Mr. Farmakis said the tenant will move in sometime this summer.

Red Door Spa Coming Soon to Union Square

Cosmetics giant Elizabeth Arden inked a deal that will bring the company's Red Door Spa to 10,000 square feet at 200 Park Avenue South, The Commercial Observer has learned.

Joseph A. Cabrera, Edward Weiss, Michael Gordon, and Robert Gibson of Cushman & Wakefield represented the tenant. Gregg Schenker, Mark Tergesen and John Gols of ABS Partners Real Estate represented the landlord, 200 Park South Associates LLC. Gary Trock of CBRE also worked on the ownership side of the transaction.

The corner location on Park Avenue South at 17th Street is near the northern border of Union Square and features 100 feet of wraparound frontage. Red Door Spa will occupy 2,500 square feet on the ground floor and 7,500 square feet on the lower level.

Law Firm Picks Chrysler Building for NYC Office

Lewis Baach PLLC, a Washington, D.C.-based law firm, has signed a lease for 3,867 square feet on the 32nd floor of the Chrysler Building at 405 Lexington Avenue, it was announced yesterday.

The law firm, which has international offices in London and Buenos Aires, will operate in New York under the name Lewis Baach PLLC Kaufmann Middlemiss. The office is currently operational according to Adam Kaufmann, partner, who will be joined in New York by Arthur Middlemiss. Mr. Kaufmann recently left the Manhattan District Attorney’s office after 18 years to join the firm.

“It’s a landmark building and it just gave us space that is convenient to a lot of business that we are doing,” said Mr. Kaufmann of the Chrysler Building.
